Our Managing Director Craig Deaton is at it again, this time building what is widely believed to be the world’s biggest conservatory.
Mr Deaton has written to the Guinness Book of World Records and is waiting to discover if the conservatory is a record-breaker.
He said most large glass structures are built on aluminium frames because of the weight, whereas his, like most household conservatories; is made out of PVC and has no pillars supporting the roof.
“It took a while to work it all out” Said our Maning Director Craig. The roof was made by Sutton-in-Ashfield based company Synseal.
“It is the biggest roof we have ever done” said sales and marketing director Nick Dutton.
“I don’t know whether it is the biggest in the world, it would be very difficult to say. But it’s impressive.”
The inside is not yet decorated, but the owner, Norman Oley, owner of Arena UK, in Allington Lane, intends to use it as a bar-restaurant.
He said “In the summer nobody wants to come inside, and in the winter nobody wants to be outside, so with this we get the best of both worlds.”
This is another example of how Basfords differs from the rest; we don’t conform we like to innovate.
